Raymond Murphy BDS (Glas) MJDFRCS (Eng) GDC 60004
Raymond was born and brought up in nearby Hamilton and graduated in dentistry from Glasgow University in 1985 with distinction passes in Medical Chemistry and Dental Technology and Materials Science.
After 7 years in practice Raymond set up the Village Dental Surgery in 1993 with one dental nurse. Bothwell Dental Care now employs 14 members of staff and provides a comprehensive dental service. Raymond has dedicated his career to continuously improving the quality of care he provides to his patients by actively committing to further education and training. He has trained and worked with orthodontic consultants at Glasgow Dental School and Hairmyres Hospital. Having completed recognised implant and cosmetic dentistry programs in England, Raymond nows receives referrals from other dentists to provide these services. He was awarded The Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of The Royal College of Surgeons in 2009. As an active member of The Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (FGDP), he now tutors other dentists seeking to gain the MJDF diploma. Raymond is an Invisalign accredited dentist, a member of the Association of Dental Implantology and has access to a network of dental specialists to enable his patients to receive the best possible dental care. He believes that all patients should have the option to choose the dentistry they need to maintain a healthy mouth and attractive smile for life.
Lesley Dardis BDS (Glas) GDC 63216
Lesley graduated from Glasgow University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree. Since then she has worked as a general dental practitioner in Glasgow and the surrounding areas. She has been the associate dentist at Bothwell Dental Care now for 20 years.
Lesley's passion for dentistry has developed considerably over the years and she has a keen interest in restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry. She developed these interests having attended 3 year long postgraduate courses in Manchester in advanced restorative and implant dentistry.
Lesley has enjoyed being part of an excellent team of dentists, hygienists and staff here at Bothwell and have developed a lasting relationship with her patients having seen many of them return to her care year after year. She strives to provide her patients with the best advice and treatment possible in order for them to maintain healthy teeth with a natural smile and lasting function.
When she is not working in the practice, Lesley enjoys spending time with her children who are now at college and university. Lesley is a music enthusiast and has played the trumpet since childhood. She has kept music as a hobby and is currently the principal cornet player in Johnstone Brass Band. She performs with them in concerts and brass band competitions and enjoys the challenges which come with it. Her other hobbies included running and she has recently taken up golf.
Kevin Bruce BDS (Glas) FDSRCS (Eng) GDC 70499
Kevin graduated from Glasgow University with a Bachelor in Dental Surgery in 1995. He was awarded the final year prize in Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology before commencing a year of postgraduate training in Edinburgh.
From 1996 to 2000 Kevin worked and trained in the hospital based dental speciality of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His resident postings were in the South West of England in both civilian and mixed civilian/armed force units where as part of a multi-disciplinary team, he treated everything from wisdom teeth removal and broken facial bones to advanced trauma and cancer cases.
In 1999 he gained his Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in England. He left the hospital service in 2000 and worked in general dental practice in both England and his native Scotland. He was a visiting Specialist Doctor of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery based in Torbay Hospital in Devon. In addition to his years of hospital surgery training, He has undertaken extensive postgraduate training throughout Europe and the USA in implant dentistry and its associated procedures.
He combined the need for implant dentistry with the growing demand for smile design based cosmetic dental procedures. To facilitate this type of dentistry, he has undertaken advanced cosmetic dental training with the world-famous New York based cosmetic dentist Dr Larry Rosenthal in both Guys Hospital London and The Rosenthal Institute in New York University in the USA. His skills in implant dentistry are sought after throughout the UK working with dentists in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland. He is a senior tutor in implant training at the Dentale Centre in Bristol where over 1000 implants are placed every year.
In 2017 he completed the following Masters University Programmes, Master in Prevention and Management of Esthetic Failures, Universtity of Bern, Switzerland, Master in Regenerative Plastic-Eshetic Periodontal Surgery, University of Bern, Switzerland and took first place in Advance Surgical Master Curriculum in Regenerative Implant Dentistry, University of Szeged, Hungary.
His extensive knowledge and experience in implant and cosmetic dentistry ensures that we can offer our patients a service second to none in Scotland.
Colin Kane, BDS (Glas) GDC 177988
Colin graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2009. Since leaving university he has been working in general dental practice and began working in Bothwell Dental Care in February 2018.Show/Hide Details:
Over his many years in practice Colin has become very competent at providing comprehensive family dentistry. He has a keen interest in advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry and hold a postgraduate certificate in intravous sedation.
Colin also has a special interest in the provision of facial aesthetics treatments and having done his initial training at the La Belle Forme Clinic in Glasgow in 2015.
Grace Nicol, Dental Practice Manager
Grace started her career in dentistry in 1994 in her local area of Lesmahagow. She qualified as a dental nurse in 1999 and worked in NHS practices in Glasgow, latterly carrying out reception duties, Childsmile programme and eventually as manager. Grace joined the Bothwell family in 2017 as receptionist and took over the running of the practice as Practice Manager in December 2018.
