What are the benefits of implants ?
For anyone looking to replace a single or multiple missing teeth there are many benefits to dental implants.
The dental implant won’t move or loosen.
They are cleaned in the same way as your natural teeth.
They act like the roots of natural teeth they help stop progressive bone loss and the shrinking of your jaw bone.
They function as well as natural teeth do. This means you can chew foods with no problem or risk of them coming out as many people have with dentures.
They won’t affect the way you speak as dentures sometimes do.
Because dental implants look, feel and also function like your natural teeth, you will have the confidence to smile again.
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is a root-shaped titanium post placed in the mouth to support artificial porcelain teeth or dentures. Dental implants have been used for over 40 years but are now becoming more common in everyday dentistry as a solution to missing teeth.
Implants Before and After
How long does a dental implant take to do?
An implant can be placed in less than one hour. The implant crown or bridge is usually placed 3 months later but can take up to 12 months to complete in more complex cases.
How long do implants last?
If properly maintained an implant could last indefinitely although the crown, bridge or denture will be subject to normal wear and tear in the mouth and may need replaced in the future.
