Meet the team

Raymond was born and brought up in nearby Hamilton and graduated in dentistry from Glasgow University in 1985 with distinction passes in Medical Chemistry and Dental Technology and Materials Science.

After 7 years in practice Raymond set up the Village Dental Surgery in 1993 with one dental nurse.

Bothwell Dental & Implant Clinic now employs 14 members of staff and provides a comprehensive dental service.

Raymond has dedicated his career to continuously improving the quality of care he provides to his patients by actively committing to further education and training. He has trained and worked with orthodontic consultants at Glasgow Dental School and Hairmyres Hospital. Having completed recognised implant and cosmetic dentistry programs in England, Raymond now receives referrals from other dentists to provide these services.

He was awarded The Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of The Royal College of Surgeons in 2009.

Raymond is an Invisalign Gold accredited dentist, a member of the Association of Dental Implantology and has access to a network of dental specialists to enable his patients to receive the best possible dental care. He believes that all patients should have the option to choose the dentistry they need to maintain a healthy mouth and attractive smile for life.

Raymond enjoys watching and participating in many sports but the highlight of his week is dragging his aching bones around the 7 a side pitch on a Wednesday night with his fellow football loving veterans.

Kevin graduated from Glasgow University with a Bachelor in Dental Surgery in 1995. He was awarded the final year prize in Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology before commencing a year of postgraduate training in Edinburgh.

From 1996 to 2000 Kevin worked and trained in the hospital based dental speciality of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His resident postings were in the South West of England in both civilian and mixed civilian/armed force units where as part of a multi-disciplinary team, he treated everything from wisdom teeth removal and broken facial bones to advanced trauma and cancer cases.

In 1999 he gained his Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in England. He left the hospital service in 2000 and worked in general dental practice in both England and his native Scotland. He was a visiting Specialist Doctor of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery based in Torbay Hospital in Devon. In addition to his years of hospital surgery training, He has undertaken extensive postgraduate training throughout Europe and the USA in implant dentistry and its associated procedures.

He combined the need for implant dentistry with the growing demand for smile design based cosmetic dental procedures. To facilitate this type of dentistry, he has undertaken advanced cosmetic dental training with the world-famous New York based cosmetic dentist Dr Larry Rosenthal in both Guys Hospital London and The Rosenthal Institute in New York University in the USA. His skills in implant dentistry are sought after throughout the UK working with dentists in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland. He is a senior tutor in implant training at the Dentale Centre in Bristol where over 1000 implants are placed every year.

In 2017 he completed the following Masters University Programmes, Master in Prevention and Management of Esthetic Failures, Universtity of Bern, Switzerland, Master in Regenerative Plastic-Eshetic Periodontal Surgery, University of Bern, Switzerland and took first place in Advance Surgical Master Curriculum in Regenerative Implant Dentistry, University of Szeged, Hungary.

His extensive knowledge and experience in implant and cosmetic dentistry ensures that we can offer our patients a service second to none in Scotland.

Colin graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2009. Since leaving university he has been working in general dental practices and began working in Bothwell Dental & Implant Clinic in February 2018.

Over his many years in practice Colin has become proficient in providing comprehensive dental treatment plans. He has a special interest in advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry and takes great pride in watching patients grow in confidence as they progress through their treatment.

Colin also enjoys working with anxious and phobic patients. As such, in 2013 he underwent training in the provision of IV sedation and has since logged countless hours restoring smiles using sedation to make patients feel as comfortable as possible.

Always keen to develop and broaden his knowledge and skill set Colin began training in the provision of Facial Aesthetics treatment in 2015 and provides a range of facial rejuvenation treatments to our patients.

Outside of work, Colin enjoys spending time with his family, taking the dogs for walks and is an avid musician.

Myles Gillespie joined Bothwell Dental & Implant Clinic in 2023 and has already become popular with patients and colleagues alike. He graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2014 and since then, he has gained invaluable experience and honed his skills both locally and abroad. He practiced dentistry in New Zealand for a couple of years before returning to Scotland to continue his career.

Myles has always been passionate about continuous learning and adaptability in his practice. As such, he has pursued various postgraduate courses to ensure he can provide the most up-to-date and efficient treatment options. He recently completed his post graduate diploma in Endodontics and while he holds a broad scope of dental practice, he has a particular interest in root canal therapy, restorative dentistry and clear aligner orthodontics.

Outside of work Myles likes to spend time with his family and enjoys cooking.

Myles is currently registering new patients and also accepts referrals for clear aligners and complex root canal therapy.

Yvonne began her career in dentistry in 1995, initially as a nurse but has since gone on to graduate from Glasgow Caledonian University as a Dental Therapist.

Yvonne has worked in many different settings and provides hygiene appointments to patients here at Bothwell Dental Care. She is very focused on prevention and enjoys helping nervous patients overcome their fears.
